SimpleOne allows users to create reports using the Report Designer and directly from the data table.
The Report Designer can stop the report generating if there is a large amount of data to display. Use Conditon Builder to limit the data sampling or try another type of report.
Create from the list layout
List layout allows users to create a report directly from the tables using its column as the grouping criteria.
Pie and bar charts are only available for this type of report creating.
To create a report from a table, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the source table.
- Chose a table column as a data grouping criteria and right-click on it.
- Select one of the context options:
- Pie chart - to generate a pie report.
- Bar chart - to generate a bar chart.
- Export Excel - to export an excel document with a data table.
- Your report will open in the Report Designer view. Customize your report data and style with the Report Designer tools in a way you need.
- Click Save to apply changes.
Create with the Report Designer
Go to the Reports → Report Designer menu, and follow the steps below:
Set the data.
- Select the type.
- Configure the data.
- Customize the style.
To navigate through the Report Designer, use the Back and Next buttons, or simply click the tabs after filling in the mandatory fields.
Set the data
- On the Data tab, fill in the mandatory fields:
- Report name - enter the desired name;
- Table - select the table you need.
- Click Next or the Type tab.
Select the type
- On the Type tab, select a type of your report.
- Click Next or the Configure tab.
Configure the data
On the Configure tab, fill in the set of the option fields determined by the report type selected. The reports of the Bars, Pies, Time Series, Multidimensional and Other category types require mandatory fields to be filled.
Use the Condition Builder to establish additional conditions for your report data filtering and grouping.(Optional) To add a report data to your report, activate the Add data tables checkbox.
This option is available for reports of the following types: Bar, Pie, Line, Trends.
(Optional) Set the Aggregation type and select the Aggregation column of the source data. The data aggregation allows preparing the combined datasets for data processing according to the user needs.
Select a type of the data aggregation with one of these options:
- Average - counts an average number of the column values.
- Count - counts a number of entries.
- Count distinct - counts the number of unique values of the column.
- Sum - counts the sum of the numeric data values in this table column.
The Sum and Average settings make sense if the aggregation column keeps the numeric data.
This option is available for reports of the following types: Bar, Pie, Gauge, Digits, Line, Pivot table, Multilevel Pivot table, Trends, Heatmap.
(Optional) Limit the number of data categories displayed in the report with the Groups limit option. It limits the number of categories specified by the Group by setting. Enter the number you want and set the Show rest as other checkbox active, if you want to show the categories not included in the limit as the last group.
This option is available for reports of the following types: Bar, Pie, Line, Trends, Pivot table, Multi Pivot table, Heatmap.
- Click Refresh to generate a report.
To customize the report style, click Next or the Style tab.
- To save the report, click Save.
Customize the style
On the Style tab, configure the style options.

See Personal list layout if you want to configure the list view as you like.
- Click Refresh to apply the changes.

Report types
Create a Bar Report
Bar Reports display data as vertical bars with lengths proportional to the data values they represent. This report view is useful for dividing data into categories and comparing them. Stack or group bars to make the chart representation visual and clear.
Create a Pie Report
Pie reports display data in a circular graphic divided into slices. The whole graph represents the entire report data along with each slice proportionally displaying a particular data category.
Create a Gauge Report
Gauge Reports represent a single metric value from the table data by the gauge panel with a dial on it. It is useful for assessing the value criticality according to the allowable limits set.
Create a Digit Report
Make simple reports with a digit representation of a single metric value. These charts are useful for monitoring the important parameters by clear visual presentation.
Create a Line Report
Line Reports represent data as a line graph of points connected by segments and visualizing the metric data values. These charts are useful for comparing data per time periods (years, months, etc.).
Create a Pivot Report
Pivot Reports represent your data in a table view with aggregating, grouping, and analyzing using two metrics as row and column for your chart. This report type is extremely useful for issues of comparing, summarizing, and counting a large amount of data.
Create a Multilevel Pivot Report
Pivot Reports represent your data in a table view with aggregating, grouping, and analyzing using more than two metrics as columns and cells for your chart. This report type is extremely useful for issues of comparing, summarizing, and counting a large amount of data.
Create a List Report
List Reports represent table data in a list view.
Create a Heatmap Report
Heatmap Reports display your data as the intersection of two metrics in a table with colored cells. These cells contain data values visualized with color brightness.
Create a Trend Report
Trend reports show the dynamics of data changes. The data is represented as columns over periods, which is useful for monitoring time parameters.
