There are three ways to create an announcement:

  • via the agent interface 
  • via the incident form
  • via the change request form. 

The first way will be described below. If you need to create an announcement out of an incident, please refer to Create an Incident Announcement, to create a change request announcement, please refer to Create a Change Request Announcement

To create an announcement, please complete the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Service Announcements → New Announcement.
  2. Fill in the fields.
  3. Click Save or Save and Exit to apply changes.

New Announcement form fields

NumberYAnnouncement number. This field is populated automatically and has the ANCMXXXXXXX format. It is always read-only.
StateY

Announcement state. Available choice options:

  • New – the announcement is just created.
  • Review – the announcement must be reviewed. After setting this state, approval emails are sent to all emails specified in the Reviewer’s Email field.
  • Published – the announcement is displayed on the Service Portal and/or sent via email.
  • Inactive – the announcement is inactive.

Only active announcements {state IS Published^via Portal IS Yes} are displayed to Portal users.

Announcement TypeY

Select needed announcement type. Available choice options are:

  • Recovery – informs that some service or CI recovery activities have been started.
  • Completion Recovery – informs that some service or CI recovery activities are over.
  • Maintenance – informs about updates, backups, or maintenance.
  • Urgent Maintenance – informs about an unexpected breakdown.
  • General Information – shows notifications.
ServiceYSpecify the referenced IT service.
Recipient EmailNSpecify the recipient's email for this announcement. You can enter more than one email separated by commas.
Reviewer's EmailNSpecify the reviewer's email for this announcement. You can enter more than one email separated by commas.
SubjectYDefine the announcement subject.
Announcement bodyN

Type the announcement body in rich-text format. In this field, you can design the announcement body using the built-in editor functionality, such as formatting, working with tables and media, lists, styles, and headings.

SignatureNRefer to the Announcement Signature.
DescriptionNType short announcement description. It will not be shown to the Service Portal user.
via EmailNSelect this checkbox to send this announcement via email. It will be sent to all addresses specified in the Recipient Email field.
via PortalNSelect this checkbox to display this announcement on the Service Portal in the Portal Announcements area.
