Announcements are used to deliver news or notifications to Service Portal users by displaying the announcements on the Portal and/or sending them via email.
When displaying on the Portal, the announcements list is located at the Announcements area and it appears as shown below:
Announcement types
In SimpleOne, announcements typification is based on three criteria:
- Urgency (for the announcements related to Change Requests)
- Notification requirements (for the announcements related to Incidents)
- Clarity (for the general requirements).
There are five announcement types in SimpleOne. They are used to categorize announcements based on the information they report.

|---|---|
| Recovery | Informs that some service or CI recovery activities have been started. |
| Completion Recovery | Informs that some service or CI recovery activities are over. |
| Maintenance | Informs about updates, backups, or maintenance. |
| Urgent Maintenance | Informs about an unexpected breakdown. |
| General Information | Shows notifications. |
You can customize the announcement type highlights and announcement widgets view on the Service Portal. You can also set up announcement highlights in the agent interface. For this, please refer to the Style Rules article. |
