The Self-Service Portal (SSP) provides end-users a simple interface to their IT support organization.
By default, it provides access to such actions as viewing the user's homepage, browsing the Service Catalog, reading Knowledge Base articles, and working with Incidents.

| Name | SSP object (category or subcategory) displayed name. |
| Active | Turn this checkbox on to make the object active. If the object is active, then it is displayed on the SSP object list; otherwise, it is not displayed here. |
| Short Description | Category or subcategory short description. It is displayed on the list view in the Self-Service Portal. |
| Description | Category or subcategory description. It is displayed on the list view in the Self-Service Portal. |
| Type | This field is defining the object type. Available options there:
If the List option is selected, then this object opens a list view of records. This list can be filtered to be matching any criteria (for this, specify the Related Table first). If the Record option is selected, then this object opens a new record creation form. If the Children option is selected, then this category has children subcategories. |
| Order | Enter the number to define the object position on the page. Objects are arranged in ascending order. |
| Temp Image URL | Place a link to the image that will be the displayed favicon for the category. |
| Root | Select an object to be the parent for this one; after you are done, this object will be displayed on the lower level than the selected one. |
| Related Table | If an object has the Record or List type, then specify the Related Table to display relevant records and lists there. |
| Sys updated by | Information about who has updated the record. |
| Sys related by | Information about who has created the record. |
| List filter | This is a pre-defined filter for the List type object, use it to limit the set of records to be displayed. Its work principle is based on the Condition Builder. The Related Table must be selected first, before using List filter, because of the filtering is made by this table. |
